Key West Dining is
one of a kind. Everything good about food has come together at the end
of America to create combinations that will keep your mouth waterin
g
from breakfast until late into the night. Get a burger for lunch at Margarittaville,
then later eat seafood, while watching the sunset, at one of the fine
dining restaurants on the water. Just like bars
in key west, there are more places to go than most have time, but
there are some favorites that you must try.
Kelly's Caribbean Bar & Grill - Located at 301 Whitehead St. in the old Pan American Airways headquarters this fun place is owned by Kelly McGillis of Top Gun fame. Lunch entrees run about $10 with dinner about $20.
La Trattoria Italian
- People rave about La Trattoria Italian in Key West. The prices are reasonable
for a restaurant of this caliber. They have a very good wine and martini
selection as well as world class desserts. You better make reservations
if you want to eat here. 
A&B Lobster House - The A&B Lobster House is pricey, but the food is excellent. Hey, you're on vacation.
Pepe's Cafe - Established in 1909 Pepes is the oldest restaurant in town. During breakfast this place is packed, and you are lucky if you can actually get a table. If you are an early riser get there when the door opens at 7:30 AM.
Blue Heaven - Tour the Hemingway House and then go to Blue Heaven for lunch. They have very reasonable lunch prices ranging from $7 - $14. You have to eat here just to see the chickens.
Louie's Backyard
- Louie's sits at the end of Waddell St. on the Atlantic Ocean in an old
classic revival home. The food is world class and the view is one of the
best in Key West. Make reservations well in advance if it's the busy season.
Louie's is one of the best restaurants in Florida, but it's pricey. Lunch
cost us $70.
Key Lime Pie
Key West is known for its great key lime pie. There are several places that make great key lime pie in Key West and I suggest you try each of them to find out which is your favorite. Below are a couple of suggestions to get your started.
Blonde Giraffe
- The Blond Giraffe constantly wins key lime 
pie
contest and they are not beyond bragging about it. I'm not one to argue
with them, but that doesn't stop me from looking around the island for
a better pie.
Kermit's Key Lime Shop - Stop by Kermits on Elizabeth Street and see if you agree with the Food Network that Kermits is the best tasting key lime pie.
